License for NPU IP#

The free NPU IP license is required to build the Vitis AI reference design. You should have received an email with the subject line “Xilinx Download Invitation for Account Access”. The purpose of this is to ensure that you have access to generate the free NPU IP license. After you receive the email, go to your Xilinx licensing account and you can note the addition of the VITIS AI Early Access IP account visible in the drop-down menu, as shown in the following image. You can use this account to generate a license for the AIE-ML NPU IP and install that license on your build machine.

Obtaining License

  • If the NPU IP license is not obtained or installed, you receive the following synthesis error:

Fatal Error. License Check failed for secure IP for feature '[email protected]'.
Exiting Synthesis.
License Check diagnostics:
The license feature [email protected] could not be found.,
No such feature exists.
