Vitis AI Host (Developer) Machine Requirements#
This section covers the hardware, software and license requirements of Vitis AI tool.
Hardware Requirements#
The following table lists Vitis™ AI developer workstation hardware requirements:

Note
You can connect the VEK280 target board to a host machine for convenient file transfers, for example transferring snapshot files. However, you do not require a network connection to run inference.

Note
Tested Ubuntu 22.04.4 for compatibility as the host operating system. The other versions of Ubuntu might be compatible, but we have not tested them.
Verified Docker versions up to 24.0.5 for compatibility. While newer Docker versions might function properly, we have not tested them formally.
License Requirements#
You must obtain the free license for NPU IP to build the Vitis AI reference design. Refer Obtaining License for NPU IP section for instructions to obtain the license.
